Stewards of Children® is an evidence-informed, award-winning training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The course
teaches practical actions you can take to protect children. It's a great resource for camp-model home repair programs and any nonprofit that works with children. Participants will receive information about local resources for child abuse prevention and information on how to provide the training to their own volunteers who work with children.
The video component of the curriculum integrates personal stories of sexual abuse survivors, sharing their experiences of trauma and healing woven in with the perspectives of parents and adults working in youth serving roles and professionals in the field of child sexual abuse. Group discussion and an Interactive Workbook are used in the facilitator-led format to engage the community in discussion and reinforce skill building.

Glenn Maddox, a Coalition member, will be leading the training. He is the National Missions Director for the Baptist General Association of Virginia. In that role he oversees Impact Disaster Response, which provides feeding, cleanout, and long-term rebuild after disasters and Impact Mission Camps, which engages youth in construction missions making repairs in owner-occupied homes. Glenn is a Darkness to Light Authorized Facilitator.
